Game Cities Guide

Weapons, ammo and legendary powers

Your survivor carries two weapons: a melee weapon and a firearm. You can use one at a time or, with one-handed weapons, both together — a pistol in one hand and a knife or machete in the other. The Z key (or the ⇄ button on mobile) switches the weapon in use.

Melee weapons

Melee weapons make no noise and use no ammo, only stamina. Knives are fast and cheap to use; the bat, the crowbar and the sledgehammer knock back and stun; the axe and the katana cut in a wide arc. Two-handed weapons used with one hand deal 40% less damage. With no weapon at all, you fight with punches and kicks — jab, cross, hook, kicks and knee strikes.

Firearms

Firearms are quick, but every shot makes noise and draws zombies from afar — the "Noise" column is the radius, in meters, they come from. Automatic weapons keep firing while the trigger is held; shotguns spread several pellets and are devastating up close; the bolt-action rifle hits far away with heavy damage per shot. The R key reloads.

Item rarity

Weapons and clothes come in four rarities: common, magic, rare and legendary. The rarer the item, the more rolled attributes — extra damage, critical hits, stamina, health per second, faster reloads. Legendary items carry a special power and a name with a Brazilian flavor, like the Burning Pequi.

Legendary powers

Each power only appears on items where it has an effect — Heavy Shot, for example, only on shotguns.

Where to get weapons and ammo

  • On the streets: zombies drop items; champions always leave something magic or better.
  • Inside houses: drawers, wardrobes and bookcases hold items, ammo and books.
  • At the Base Romu's shops: weapons, ammo, clothes and food, paid with in-game gold.
  • By recycling: jewelry and metal parts dropped by zombies turn into gold.
