Survival: health, stamina, food, sleep and skills
Surviving in Game Cities means managing three things: health, stamina and sleep. Running, striking and rolling cost stamina; running out leaves your survivor exhausted, walking slowly until they catch their breath. Food, water, medkits and a safe bed solve almost everything.
Health and medkits
Medkits (Q key) heal instantly. They recharge when you return to a respawn point — the fountain or the city's light beacon. The First aid skill makes each medkit heal more.
Food and water
The T key eats whichever food helps right now. Water restores stamina; canned beans and the military ration restore health too.
| Food | Effect |
|---|---|
| Water bottle | +60 stamina |
| Canned beans | +25% health · +20 stamina |
| Military ration | +50% health · +100 stamina |
Sleep
While awake, your survivor grows sleepy: a ring around the stamina orb shows how much sleep is missing. When tired, stamina comes back more slowly; at the limit, your aim shakes and your vision darkens. To sleep, find a bed inside a house — with zombies nearby you cannot fall asleep.
Stealth and the flashlight
Crouched (V key or the 👣 button), you move slowly and zombies only notice you up close. The flashlight (F key) steadies your aim in the dark and boosts damage, but it gets you seen from far away. At night, choose when to switch it on.
The nine skills
Each skill goes from 1 to 10 by doing — healing, driving, repairing, eating, landing shots, striking — and by reading. Books and magazines are inside houses, on bookcases, desks, nightstands and wardrobes; each volume teaches a little, and some require a minimum level to be understood.
| Skill | Trained by |
|---|---|
| First aid | healing with the medkit |
| Driving | driving |
| Electrical | fixing the car lights |
| Mechanics | repairing cars |
| Survival | eating and searching furniture |
| Aiming | landing shots (headshots count more) |
| Dexterity | reloading and opening furniture |
| Strength | landing melee hits |
| Intelligence | reading (every book teaches a little) |
Dying and respawning
If your health runs out, you choose: respawn at the start or in the middle of the street closest to where you fell (the zombies there disappear). Either choice costs 10% of your gold. Your gear and skills stay with you.
